Tasmania and Bruny Island Information |
| Bruny Island is located at the south eastern corner of Tasmania. Bruny is steeped in history and was first discovered by Tobias Furneaux in his ship 'Adventure' after which the township of Adventure Bay is named. Bruny Island has lots of varied holiday accommodation from camping grounds to luxury accommodation cottages with spas and waterfront locations. There is abundant wildlife with particular reference to the rare forty spotted pardelote and a large colony of 'white wallabies' - found only on Bruny island. Bruny is reached by the ferry ' Mirambeena' which leaves Kettering on the mainland and arrives at Roberts Point on Bruny some fifteen minutes later. |
